COMING MARCH 2026
Snoring is more than just a nuisance. For many people, it is a sign of restricted airflow during sleep, which can affect sleep quality, energy levels and overall health. At Keyworth Dental, we provide custom-made anti-snoring devices designed to improve airflow, reduce snoring and support healthier breathing during sleep.
This service will be available for suitable patients from March 2026, following a full clinical assessment.
Anti-snoring Devices.

Why addressing snoring matters
Snoring often occurs when the airway becomes partially obstructed during sleep, causing vibration of the soft tissues at the back of the throat. In some cases, this can be associated with obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA), a condition where breathing repeatedly stops and starts during the night.
Untreated airway obstruction and sleep apnoea have been linked to wider health risks, including:
Increased risk of stroke
Cardiac rhythm disturbances (arrhythmias)
Daytime fatigue, poor concentration and reduced quality of life
Improving airflow during sleep can play an important role in supporting long-term health, not just quieter nights.
How anti-snoring devices work
Anti-snoring devices, also known as mandibular advancement devices, work by gently repositioning the lower jaw forward during sleep. This helps keep the airway open, reducing obstruction and improving airflow.
At Keyworth Dental, we use a clinically proven, adjustable appliance based on the Mandibular Snoring Inhibitor (MSI) system, which allows for precise control and comfort while sleeping.
Custom-made appliances — not generic mouthguards
While generic, over-the-counter anti-snoring mouthguards are widely available, many patients struggle to tolerate them. Poorly fitting devices can be uncomfortable, ineffective, and may even adversely affect the bite or jaw joints over time.
Our approach is different.
Because these appliances directly influence jaw position, they are best prescribed and monitored by a clinician with advanced orthodontic expertise.
Why specialist orthodontic input matters
As a specialist-run orthodontic practice, we are uniquely placed to assess how an anti-snoring device may affect your teeth, bite and jaw function — both short and long term.
Your assessment is carried out by a Specialist Orthodontist, ensuring:
Proper evaluation of your bite and jaw relationship
Reduced risk of unwanted tooth movement or bite changes
Safe, predictable appliance positioning
Ongoing monitoring to protect oral health
This level of oversight is particularly important for patients using mandibular advancement devices regularly or long term.
Anti-snoring devices are suitable for many patients, but not everyone. A full assessment is essential to ensure treatment is safe, appropriate and effective. These appliances are not a substitute for medical care where sleep apnoea is suspected.
We work carefully and responsibly, always prioritising patient safety and long-term oral health.
